Mabuhay ang mga magsisiagtapos sa Unibersidad ng Makati (UMAK)!

The UMak you know today started as a humble Community College 5 decades ago. We offered free industrial and business technology programs to the underpriveleged and low-income residents of the City who wanted to achieve a bright future. The hallways and classrooms of the old Makati Polytechnic Community College are witnesses to the strategic plans of the City, University management, professors, and staff. The busy railway along OsmeƱa Highway and might acacia tree inspired and carved towering dreams in the students.

Our history, like the impressive and dynamic Makati skyline today, significantly impacted on the education landscape. Like a heron gliding in the clouds, we spread our wings and created program offerings tailored to the industry demands. We went out the swamp to soar high because veing the best is an understatement.

Fast forward, the former Community College is now a leading local University with programs compliant with the requireent of the Commission on Higher Education producing board top-notchers, trust-worthy public servants, and excellent corporate progessionals.

Today, we aim to be included in the list of global ranking of world universities; that is why we never ceases to enhance our academic reputation, increase the traking of our graduate employment rate, hit and maintain an acceptable faculty-student ratio, and create international linkages.

My dear graduates, the moment you entered UMak, you became part of the history. We have cemented the initial path of your road to success, and equipped you with tools so you can fly high. However, the techniques to survive life can be found outside UMak. Use the skills you learned from your professors and administrative staff you met during your stay here.

Never forget the history - the story that shaped your ambitions and the learning you can pass on to others. Never forget to look back - to realize that the bigger chunk of the person you have become is because of your alma mater. Don't be fooled, be wise, be kind, be the great brave herons that you are.

Congratulations! We hope to see you soon!
